setup ubuntu for rails part 1

• Ubuntu 16.04

Enable SSH

1. install SSH service

   $ sudo apt-get install ssh
   $ sudo apt-get install openssh-server
   

2. (optional) ssh config

   $ vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config
   $ /etc/init.d/ssh restart
   

install rvm

• follow https://rvm.io/rvm/install

1. update apt-get

   $ sudo apt-get update
   

2. get GPG keys

   $ gpg --keyserver hkp://pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-keys 409B6B1796C275462A1703113804BB82D39DC0E3
   

3. install RVM with stable ruby version

   $ \curl -sSL https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable --ruby
   

4. add rvm to PATH

   $ source .rvm/scripts/rvm
   

5. check rvm and ruby is well installed

   $ rvm -v
   $ ruby -v
   

install git

1. install git

   $ sudo apt-get install git
   

install vim

1. install vim

   $ sudo apt-get install vim
